บล็อกครั้งแรกวันที่ April 18, 2005 บนโดเมน MIT ตอนนั้นเห่อมาก เพิ่งรู้ตัวว่าสอบติด ตั้งชื่อบล็อกว่า Ann of Green Gables (ตอนนี้ยังอยู่อยู่เลย แต่สีมันเปลี่ยนไป) ในชื่อ Ann Rata
ปรากฎว่าคนติดเยอะ พอบล็อกได้ 5 เดือน ก็ถูก MIT Admissions Office ทาบทามให้ไปเป็นบล็อกเกอร์ประจำ MIT (MIT blogger) มี URL สวยเก๋ http://ann.mitblogs.com ยิ่งเห่อเข้าไปอีก (แถมได้ $10/entry)
